Round 5 Votes

Wow! Round 5 was a looooooooong round indeed, with matches spread out over six days from Friday through to Wednesday.

And boy was there some major activity at the top of our leaderboard. Five of our top seven players all picked up votes in Round 5, so lets get to it shall we?

The big mover this week was Dustin Martin. He has shot up to 10 votes total and is now outright top on the Phantom Brownlow Medal leaderboard.

That shouldn’t be a surprise to many. He has had superb season so far, showing no rust from his record breaking season last year.

We have Martin polling 2 votes this round, but it is not set in stone. Kane Lambert is certain for 3 votes, but there is a logjam of five players competing for the remaining votes in the Richmond vs Melbourne match.

2015 Brownlow Medallist Nat Fyfe was the other big mover in Round 5. He is a lock for 3 votes for his big game against the Bulldogs.

He is now on 9 votes total and equal with Tom Mitchell in second position. It is his third 3 vote performance in four rounds and he is looking ominous.

Steele Sidebottom has also moved up the leaderboard and is now into equal fourth position with team mate Brodie Grundy.

Geelong ace Joel Selwood has also thrown himself in the mix with a 3 vote performance against the Power on Saturday. He has moved to 6 votes and is well and truly in the mix.

Other big performances worth noting in Round 5 came from Patrik Cripps, Ben Cunnington, Brett Deledio, Touk Miller.

A special mention to Adam Treloar who won the Anzac Day Medal in the Collingwood vs Essendon match.

Looking Ahead

Round 6 action actually kicks off tonight. We were late getting the vote for Round 5 with some media outlets late publishing their results due to Anzac Day being Wednesday.

The big match of the round is Sunday when Collingwood takes on Richmond.

Three of our top five players of the Phanton Brownlow Medal leaderboard will be in this match with Dustin Martin squaring off against Steele Sidebottom and Brodie Grundy.

Nat Fyfe will be in action on Sunday afternoon in the WA Derby. Elliot Yeo is the top ranked Eagle currently, with 4 votes from the pat two rounds.

The Hawthorn vs St Kilda match could have Brownlow Medal implications too with Tom Mitchell (9 votes) and Jack Steven (5 votes) in action.
