Round 7 Votes

Round 7 votes are now counted and in the system, and for the third week in a row, we have a near leader at the top.

Fremantle Dockers superstar Nat Fyfe appears on track to add a second Brownlow Medal to his trophy cabinet with a vintage display.

The Dockers may have lost by 77 points to Richmond, but our voters were unanimous in awarding Fyfe 3 votes for his efforts.

That means he has now polled 3 votes in four of his past 6 matches to take his total to 12 votes. With only a third of the season gone, he is looking ominous.

Jack Macrae has also been impressing as of late. He has quietly been going about things, but has now polled 10 votes in his 6 matches and is now equal third on our leaderboard.

He was simply brilliant against Gold Coast in Ballarat on Saturday and is a certainty for 3 votes. It's amazing you can get odds of $34 on him at

Melbourne ruckman Max Gawn is also on a hot streak the last month. He has now polled 9 votes in the past 5 games and is now equal third with Macrae.

Gawn is likely to poll 1-2 votes on the weekend against St Kilda, but it depends is the umpires favoured the game of teammate Clayton Oliver.

Sticking with Melbourne, Jesse Hogan is odds on to poll 3 votes in that match and he has also shot up our leaderboard into sixth position on 8 votes.

It was a relatively quiet round for the rest of our top ten, with none of the others likely to pick up votes.

Tom Mitchell was impressive and will be in contention for votes, but it depends what the men in fluro green think.

Big performances this week came from James Sicily, Tom Kelly, Jack Redden and Mitch McGovern.

Round 7 Leaderboard

  • 12: Nat Fyfe (Fre)
  • 11: Tom Mitchell (Haw)
  • 10: Dustin Martin (Ric)
  • 10: Max Gawn (Mel)
  • 10: Jack Macrae (Wb)
  • 8: Jesse Hogan (Mel)
  • 7: Patrick Cripps (Car)
  • 7: Trent Cotchin (Ric)
  • 7: Brodie Grundy (Col)
  • 7: Steele Sidebottom (Col)

Looking Ahead

Not a lot to get excited about this week. Carlton vs Essendon used to be a match to get excited for, but it promises to be a snooze fest.

Tom Mitchell heads to face his old team in Sydney, so will have a tough time of it.

Our leader Nat Fyfe is back in Perth as the Dockers host the struggling St Kilda. It is a great opportunity to accumulate even more votes.

Dustin Martin will be in action against North Melbourne, who have Shaun Higgins and Ben Brown both hot in recent weeks.

While we can't wait to see Jack Macrae against Brisbane on Saturday evening. He could take an outright lead on the top of our leaderboard if he polls 3 votes.
